Generalist UK Job Sites

The job sites on this page are called generalist job sites, because they list jobs from a number of different sectors. This means that they will list a number of jobs from your sector / profession, this may total 1000's of jobs or just 100s of jobs or perhaps even less.

You should also take a look at our list of Specialist UK job sites. These sites concentrate on one particular industry sector or a particular profession. They can therefore be a very good source of jobs.


Reed.co.uk	Reed.co.uk offers one of the largest selections of jobs in the UK. There are typically over 200,000 jobs listed on this site. They have nearly 2000 jobs in their health and medicine sector and about 3000 jobs in their scientific section (which cover pharmaceuticals). Of course it also has lots of jobs in other sectors too - certainly worth a visit whatever sector / profession you are in. They allow you to search by sector, job title and also location. Registering on this site allows you to receive email and text alerts relating to jobs you might be interested in, which saves you from having to continually check for new jobs by visiting the site.
Totaljobs.com	TotalJobs.com has over 80,000 UK-based jobs. It features 1000 health related, plus jobs across all other sectors. You can find jobs by work sector or use their search engine, where you can enter job titles / keywords, region, permanent, contract, part-time or temporary work. You can also start your search by location.
Jobsite.co.uk	Jobsite.co.uk has over 190,000 jobs advertised in any one month. It lists 1000's of medical / health and pharmaceutical jobs. You can search by job title, location and date of posting. Their advanced search page also allows you to include / exclude listings by certain phrases or skill areas. Your CV can be stored on their site and sent to hundreds of recruitment agencies.
Gisajob.co.uk	Gisajob.co.uk lists over 20,000 jobs and offers a searches by sector and location, plus email alerts for new vacancies. The site differentiate between jobs offered by agencies and those offered directly by employers, as well as geographically by region and county.
PlanetRecruit.co.uk	PlanetRecruit.co.uk had over 26,000 job vacancies in 27 countries in the last month. Jobs can be searched by work category, job duration, location, age of advert, minimum salary, etc. Once you have registered, you can upload your CV and then apply for jobs on the site. They will also send you regular job alerts via email.
JobServe.com	JobServe.com has nearly 40,000 jobs (at the time of writing). You can search for jobs by job type or industry sector – there are fifteen categories, but there is a definite bias towards IT. Search results can be delivered by the website or by email or SMS text. You can track your applications once you have submitted them.
Fish4Jobs.co.uk	Fish4Jobs.co.uk has about 50,000 UK jobs. You can search by job title, key word, industry sector, and specific geographic locations within a certain radius of a location or postcode – a nice touch.
